
The New School was founded by forward-thinking educators in 1919 to defy the intellectual constraints of a traditional college education. We are seeking 1 student to help with administrative tasks as described below.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet students, faculty, and visitors at the department front desk, providing courteous and professional assistance.
Replenish paper and toner maintain department copiers to ensure uninterrupted operation.
Assist with department-sponsored events by setting up rooms, welcoming guests, and managing check-in sheets.
Run campus errands, including posting flyers, delivering materials and supplies, and collecting departmental mail.
Perform light administrative and clerical duties as needed to support daily department operations, such as photocopying, scanning books for professors, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eligible for Federal Work Study- please provide letter
Reliable, punctual, and organized
Comfortable using standard office equipment (copiers, scanners, etc.)
Professional communication and a collaborative attitude
Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow instructions carefully
Ability to help with events that start at 6pm (on either M, W or R).
WORK MODE: On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely. #LI-DNI
Hourly Rate $19 per hour

Responsibilities include replenishing paper and toner and helping maintain department copiers to ensure uninterrupted operation, assisting with department-sponsored events by setting up rooms, welcoming guests, and managing check-in sheets, and running campus errands such as posting flyers, delivering materials and supplies, and collecting departmental mail. The Student Assistant will also perform light administrative and clerical duties as needed to support daily office operations, including photocopying, scanning books and documents for faculty, filing, and completing other office tasks as assigned. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, customer service-oriented, and able to work independently while maintaining a professional and welcoming environment.
