Interested in a career that matters?

We are looking for a new student assistant with good Python and Linux programming skills with an interest in working with molecular modelling, molecular dynamics, data and automated workflows. A background with competences in biophysics, bioinformatics, biochemistry or data science can be an advantage. The position will be in R&D, Protein Chemistry and Assays (PCA) in the department of Assays and Application.

We work with development and automation of complex enzymatic assays for application understanding and new product development of biological solutions. Among the techniques we use are molecular modelling and molecular dynamics to study proteins in their complex chemical environments. Here, we integrate the latest public and internal modelling tools while developing data pipelines in close collaboration with other departments in Novonesis.

The Role & Your Impact
As our new Student Assistant, you will support the development of molecular modelling workflows and simulation tools while contributing to the continuous improvement of data and automation processes. You will work closely with experienced scientists and fellow student assistants and quickly gain responsibility for your own tasks and projects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Parameterize and validate new molecule models for molecular dynamics simulations, particularly in the coarse-grained framework

  • Develop work- and dataflows for molecular modelling and molecular simulations

  • Document and communicate developed solutions

What You'll Need to Be Successful
We are looking for a university student, for example from the Technical University of Denmark or the University of Copenhagen, with at least two years remaining in your studies.

To succeed in this role, you should be:

  • Comfortable in Python

  • Comfortable in Linux

  • Experience writing apps is a plus

  • Experience with Git

  • Communicative / collaborative mindset: comfortable setting up meetings, offering help and assistance, working in a team

Additional Skills & Interests We Value
It is an advantage if you have:

  • A background in biophysics, bioinformatics, biochemistry, data science, or a related field.

  • Experience developing applications or working with molecular modelling and simulation tools.
