Position Title: CIP Student Assistant
Anticipated Start Date: 07/01/2026
End Date: 06/30/2027
Approximate number of hours: 10-16 hours/week
The CIP Student Assistant provides operational and administrative support to center staff, helping keep day-to-day functions running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for a student interested in gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced research center environment.
Responsibilities will include the following duties:
- Assist with scheduling and calendar management for center staff and meetings
- Support travel logistics and reimbursement coordination for staff and guests
- Help coordinate catering and printing/material preparation for events and meetings
- Support procurement requests and invoice processing
- Assist with management of shared email inboxes (reading, sorting, flagging items that need attention)
- Assist with event logistics coordination, including reserving space and managing vendor communications
- Support speaker and participant coordination for CIP convenings and programs
- Provide day-of support at CIP events
- Other special projects as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Washington
- Able to work 10-16 hours/week over summer, fall, winter, and spring quarters
- Must be reliable, punctual, conscientious and exhibit a strong work ethic
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work well both independently and as a member of a small team
- Microsoft Office proficient, specifically experience with Outlook
