Job Description

Nasdaq’s Economic & Statistical Research (ESR) department is looking for a Student Analyst to join the Market Statistics team. In ESR, we deliver analytical insights to all Nasdaq business units across the Nordic and Baltic region through statistical reporting, self-service BI dashboards and ad-hoc analyses. Our works support business units in decision making, with the aim of improving trading, capital formation and market structure.

The team consists of about a dozen employees that work across three different areas: Technology, Research and Statistics. Our primary customers are within Capital Market Listings, Equities, Derivatives and Fixed Income, as well as senior management and corporate functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the team with quantitative analysis, reporting and business intelligence development.
  • Work with large, high‑granularity datasets to analyze trend, market liquidity and calculate performance metrics.
  • Help to maintain our reporting and BI tools, primarily SAP Business Objects and Microsoft Power BI, to model and analyze data.
  • Involve in efficient data extraction, validation, and quality control where you will put your SQL skills and data modelling knowledge into use.

Required Qualifications

  • Be currently enrolled in a university masters program within Finance/Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or other relevant subjects.
  • Strong analytical approach with the ability to translate data into insights.
  • Some experience or coursework in econometrics, quantitative analysis, data modelling and business intelligence.
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL for efficient data querying and Python for data analytics.
  • Comfortable working with very large datasets and attention to details.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with capital markets and financial products
  • Experience working with BI tools.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, database schema, and modern data pipelines.

This is a part-time position based in Stockholm, Sweden, offered on a 6-month contract basis, renewable in line with your studies. The ideal candidate can work at a minimum 2 days a week in parallel to their studies and full time during the summer. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
