Support a high‑impact team managing student complaints, misconduct and appeals
Base Salary $89,755 - $100,495 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Student Affairs Assistant plays a key role in supporting the University’s complaints, misconduct and appeals processes. Working within the Student Affairs Unit (SAU), you will contribute to the smooth and compliant operation of case intake, triage and early‑stage administration. This role has a direct impact on the student experience and supports effective engagement with academic and professional staff, investigators, solicitors and members of the public.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
work closely with case managers, senior staff and key stakeholders across the University
deliver daily administrative services that support efficient handling of complaints, misconduct and appeal matters
analyse, record and triage incoming cases in line with University policies and procedures
prepare written advice, recommendations and updates on administrative anomalies under guidance from senior staff
support administrative functions for the Manager, Director and Deputy Registrar, including correspondence and meeting coordination
coordinate and minute student misconduct meetings and maintain accurate electronic records
update databases, compile reports and prepare data summaries, charts and tables for presentations
provide administrative support for projects related to complaints, misconduct and appeals
About you
experience in complaints handling or high‑volume customer service, ideally in a university or similar environment
experience interpreting policies, regulations and procedures in a complex organisation
ability to analyse data, compile reports and maintain accurate records
demonstrated capability to apply established processes, make sound recommendations and support process improvements
proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant administrative systems
tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
