Newcomb-Tulane College’s College Programs Interns are professional representatives of the
undergraduate college at Tulane University. Interacting with various audiences – faculty,
students, staff, families, community members, and more – interns are expected to adhere to the
mission of the college and contribute positively to the experience of all Tulane University
constituents.
Work Hours & Pay
Interns are generally scheduled to work 9-10 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between
9 AM and 4:30 PM. Additional hours may be offered when support is necessary for events
outside of office hours. Interns are paid $13/hour.
Intern Characteristics
Interns should be professional; they play a large role in student, faculty, and staff impressions of
Newcomb-Tulane College and should strive to be ambassadors of the office. Much of the intern
work is independent, so we value strong initiative and open and timely communication around
the office. Lastly, while class and exam times always take priority, we expect interns to place
their work responsibilities second to school, as we rely on interns to complete the work of the
office.
