Job Description

Airnorth is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Structures (Sheet Metal) | Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) to join our Engineering team. This role is responsible for ensuring all structural and maintenance activities are completed in accordance with approved maintenance data, regulatory requirements and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform aircraft structural inspections, repairs and modifications.
  • Manufacture and fabricate aircraft components from sheet metal and approved materials.
  • Repair and replace aircraft skins, panels, frames, ribs, floor structures and control surfaces.
  • Conduct corrosion inspections, treatment and preventative maintenance.
  • Install modification kits and engineering orders.
  • Accurately complete maintenance records and documentation.
  • Maintain tooling, equipment and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition.
  • Support general aircraft maintenance activities as directed.

About You:

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Structures) or an equivalent recognised aircraft structural trade qualification.
  • Experience in aircraft sheet metal and structural repairs.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, SRMs, AMMs and approved maintenance data.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer literacy and experience using maintenance management systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an ASIC and Airside Driver's Licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience on aircraft types operated by Airnorth.
  • Experience within a CASA Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation.
  • Composite repair and corrosion control experience.
  • NDT awareness or qualifications.
