Job Description

Join us as a Structured Products & Exchange Traded Funds Specialist

  • Take responsibility for coverage and selection of third party cross-asset solutions and strategies including structured products, delta one notes, passive routes to market and responsible investing solutions in order to generate fresh investment ideas across strategies, themes and asset allocation opportunities
  • Present and defend proposed additions, removals and rating changes for the Approved Universe, using clear analysis and strong investment insight
  • You’ll share market insights with wider investment franchise, giving you visibility, influence and the chance to strengthen your expertise across such investment solutions

What you’ll do

As our Structured Products & Exchange Traded Funds Specialist, you’ll analyse regulated non-traditional strategies and passive investments to inform strong recommendations. You’ll help us establish the wider Managed Solutions team as the centre of excellence for primary research, refining our philosophy, due diligence standards and ongoing monitoring processes.

You’ll conduct and document initial strategy due diligence and selection approaches, alongside qualitative and quantitative monitoring. You will also execute structured product trades with our panel of banks and monitor lifecycle of products. In addition translate economic‑research insights into the appropriate strategy or product.

Your work will also focus on:

  • Proactively investigating performance outliers to uncover drivers, risks and opportunities
  • Maintaining strong awareness of capital markets developments, staying up to date with economic research and house views
  • Contributing to sector discussions across the team, supporting an open, constructive culture of challenge and debate
  • Building and managing effective relationships with a panel of investment banks and fund houses to strengthen insight and due diligence
  • Supporting portfolio and investment management teams in implementing the preferred fund range, making sure exposures are fully understood and accurately positioned with clients
  • Contributing to internal and external publications, sharing analysis and enhancing the visibility of the team’s research

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring an enthusiastic approach to work paired with good analytical skills and the ability to translate insights into strategy rotation and portfolio construction. A CFA qualification or equivalent is also desired , with strong knowledge of the UK retail investment products market to inform robust recommendations and client outcomes. This is a regulated role required to perform certified and controlled functions.

We’ll need your excellent attention to detail, intellectual rigour and creative skills to produce high-quality analysis that strengthens judgement and enhances decision-making.

You’ll also demonstrate:

  • Strong knowledge of structured product payoff profiles and systematic strategies
  • Understanding of the ETF ecosystem including liquidity and demonstrable experience in responsible investing solutions
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team with a flexible approach
  • Excellent communication skills to convey information clearly across teams
  • Confidence using software packages such as Bloomberg, Python, and Excel
