We are seeking a Structural Trades II team member to help maintain and improve campus facilities through a combination of building maintenance, preventative maintenance, and welding/fabrication work.

About the Role
As a Structural Trades II employee, you will perform a wide variety of maintenance, repair, and renovation activities across campus facilities. The majority of your time will be dedicated to completing work orders and preventative maintenance tasks that keep buildings safe, functional, and visually appealing for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
You will work both independently and as part of a team while partnering closely with supervisors, building occupants, and fellow trades professionals to deliver quality results with minimal disruption to campus operations.
What You'll Do
Building Maintenance & Preventative Maintenance (80%)
Perform preventative maintenance and repair work on campus buildings and facilities, including:
Welding & Fabrication (10%)
Snow Removal & Other Duties (5%)
Work Order Documentation & Accountability (5%)

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience Only:
Four (4) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position, which included (experience must be clearly documented in the "Work History" section of your application)
Experience in building maintenance, structural trades, or related skilled trades work
Working knowledge of construction materials, tools, and repair techniques
Experience performing repairs involving drywall, painting, flooring, doors, carpentry, or building exteriors
Ability to perform welding and basic fabrication work
Basic computer skills, including email and work order management systems
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple assignments
Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
Must be a current employee at Colorado School of Mines
Or
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education, formalized apprenticeship program, and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to four (4) years (Transcripts must be attached for educational credit).
