Structural Technologist (Bridges) – Perth

WSP is growing our Bridges team in Perth. This opportunity suits a structural technologist/modeller/drafter who enjoys turning complex bridge designs into clear, buildable models and drawings and who values quality, safety and collaboration.

Working within our growing Bridges, Aviation and Roads team in Perth. You will work alongside talented professionals on iconic projects that drive future-ready solutions benefiting both clients and communities.

Role snapshot

  • Location: Perth (flexible working available)
  • Discipline: Bridges and transport structures (roads/rail)
  • Level: All levels considered (from early-career to lead technologist)
  • Delivery: 3D modelling, drawings, documentation, coordination and quality reviews
  • Tools: Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation (and other structural modelling/drafting tools eg OpenBridge )

The opportunity

If you’re ready to make a real impact, we’re looking for passionate Structural Technologists/Modellers/Drafters to join our Bridges, Aviation and Roads team and help deliver future-ready solutions across Western Australia’s most exciting infrastructure projects.

You’ll work with our Bridges, Aviation and Roads team on major WA transport infrastructure—partnering with multidisciplinary specialists locally and drawing on WSP’s national and global expertise when it adds value.

What you’ll do

  • Produce bridge and transport-structure models and drawings using Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation and other tools
  • Develop and maintain high-quality 3D models, drawings and documentation
  • Support delivery of bridge and transport-infrastructure projects from concept through detailed design
  • Coordinate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to resolve design and documentation issues early
  • Apply Safety in Design principles and contribute to quality assurance processes and reviews
  • Work to Australian Standards and WA client requirements (including Main Roads WA and PTA)

Depending on your experience, you may also

  • Develop parametric models and automation processes
  • Undertake site inspections (as required) and support construction-phase queries
  • Review models and drawings, ensuring consistency, constructability and compliance
  • Support and develop other technologists, fostering a culture of technical excellence
  • Promote innovation and digital delivery, including effective use of 3D modelling tools
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and internal mentoring

What you’ll bring

Must have

  • Diploma or degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Demonstrated experience in bridge/transport-structure modelling and documentation within a consulting or infrastructure delivery environment
  • Capability in Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation (or similar), including model management, drawing production and coordination
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards and WA client requirements (including Main Roads WA and PTA), with experience applying them on live projects
  • Strong attention to detail and quality, with a practical problem-solving mindset
  • Strong collaborative communication skills and an ability to work effectively within project teams
  • Ability to work autonomously on allocated modelling and documentation packages

Nice to have

  • Parametric modelling and automation experience
  • Basic scripting/programming skills (e.g., Dynamo, Python) to improve workflows
  • Construction-phase support experience (RFIs, markups, as-builts and coordination)
  • A positive, team-first attitude with a passion for technical excellence and innovation.
  • Great communication skills and a drive to make a difference.
