Merrick & Company is seeking a college or graduate school Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering student for a paid summer internship for Summer 2027 at our Greenwood Village, CO, Tulsa, OK, Richmond, VA, or Chattanooga, TN, office.
Merrick’s Summer Internship Program offers meaningful, hands-on experience for students. Designed as a shorter-term, exploratory experience, internships allow students to apply what they’re learning in school while gaining exposure to real projects, professional collaboration, and day-to-day life at an employee-owned company.
The summer internship has a commitment of approximately mid-May through mid-August 2027.
The intern will gain technical experience and be exposed to a variety of structural engineering in an industrial setting with items potentially including structural analysis using computer finite element analysis, structural steel design, foundation design, concrete design, analysis of existing structures, exposure to AISC, ASCE, and ACI codes and standards, and exposure to drawing creation using AutoCAD or REVIT as well as engineering quality assurance procedures.
The position requires collaboration with other disciplines, ability to interface with clients and contractors, follow schedules and budget commitments, work independently, possess good written and oral communication skills, and the ability to solve problems.

At Merrick, employee ownership drives us as we work alongside our clients to develop the right solutions to better our world. We’re motivated by a need to do the right thing and be the best we can be—and we make decisions based on that, not the bottom line. As employee owners, we’re empowered to find the solutions that have a positive impact on our communities, our company, and our world.
We’re an employee-owned, multi-discipline professional engineering, architecture, surveying, geospatial, and science and technology solutions firm. We serve domestic and international clients in the aerospace; infrastructure; nuclear; energy, manufacturing, and bioprocessing; and life sciences markets.
