PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Provide engineering support to both internal and external clients while leading and mentoring a small team of junior engineers. Ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality structural engineering solutions that meet customer, project, and business requirements.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain design tools and procedures to assist the technical department in the day to day designs
  • Assist with research and development projects as well as product compliance of existing and new product groups, including the development of calculation models and technical literature
  • Assist with the preparation of plans with detailed drawings that include project specifications and cost estimates
  • Lead and mentor a small team of junior members of the technical department
  • Assists with technical presentations to customers
  • Keep informed on industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, relevant information about legacy, existing, and emerging technologies, and the latest product line developments
  • Ensure compliance with all personal obligations under Health and Safety legislation and adhere to Company H&S policies and procedures, whilst working and striving to improve the internal Safety Audit

KEY FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • Must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil Structural)
  • Relevant working experience in related fields construction, engineering design, architecture, and building materials including hands on and report/document writing
  • Sound knowledge of fundamental structural engineering principles
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD
  • Experience with Precast Concrete lifting and connections would be an advantage
  • High level of integrity, ethics, compliance to CRH policies and related laws, and imperative to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and intellectual property of products and services
  • Great attitude who embraces every situation with enthusiasm and a Customer centric approach
