Structural Engineer | Melbourne

Permanent Full-Time

Join Fyfe's Melbourne team as a Structural Engineer and play an integral role in delivering practical, innovative structural solutions across multi-storey residential and commercial projects.

In this role, you'll take ownership of structural analysis and design across multi-storey residential and commercial projects, while working closely with multidisciplinary teams and supporting delivery across Fyfe's Melbourne and Adelaide portfolio.

What you'll do:

• Structural analysis and design: Deliver structural analysis and design for multi-storey residential and commercial structures.
• Foundations and support arrangements: Design foundations and support systems, coordinating with geotechnical inputs and construction constraints.
• Engineering deliverables: Produce high-quality calculations, design reports, specifications and design sketches, while supporting drafting and modelling teams.
• Project delivery: Coordinate multiple medium engineering projects and work packages across the Melbourne and Adelaide portfolio, including day-to-day design and construction-stage activities.
• Working collaboratively: Partner with Civil and other services including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire and acoustic teams to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
• Building relationships: Develop strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project teams while resolving technical and site-based issues and undertaking site inspections.
• Technical quality and compliance: Ensure engineering deliverables are completed on time and meet technical quality, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.

About you

• A degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering, with progress toward Chartership highly regarded.
• 4–5+ years' local structural engineering experience, with the capability to work toward Senior Engineer level.
• Experience delivering multi-storey residential and commercial projects, with working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards including AS/NZS 1170.1–2, 4, AS 4100, AS 3600, AS 3700 and the NCC.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design tools such as SpaceGass, ETABS, RAM Concept and RAPT, or equivalent. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach to problem solving and delivering quality outcomes.
• Professional Engineer Registration and Chartered status would be highly regarded.
