Structural Draughtsman
Salary: €50,000 - €65,000 per year (DOE)

Job Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Structural Draughtsman to join a growing engineering consultancy. The successful candidate will play a key role in the preparation of structural drawings, BIM models, and technical documentation across a variety of building projects. Working closely with engineers, architects, contractors, and other design team members, you will support projects from concept through to construction, ensuring all drawings are accurate, compliant, and delivered within project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed structural drawings, layouts, reinforcement drawings, and
construction documentation using AutoCAD and Revit
- Develop and maintain 3D BIM models for a range of construction projects
- Coordinate drawings with engineers, architects, surveyors, and external consultants
- Produce accurate technical drawings in accordance with Irish regulations and project
specifications
- Revise and update drawings based on design changes and client requirements
- Assist in the preparation of planning, tender, and construction-stage documentation
- Conduct drawing reviews and quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Attend project coordination meetings and site visits where required
- Maintain drawing registers, document control systems, and BIM standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the design team
Essential Requirements
- EU/UK citizenship or existing right to work in Ireland (mandatory)
- Degree, Diploma, or Higher Certificate in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering,
Engineering Technology, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in structural drafting within the Irish construction
industry
- Proven experience producing structural drawings for residential, commercial,
educational, and industrial projects
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
- Strong understanding of Irish Building Regulations and construction standards
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to project sites when required
- Experience producing structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and foundation
drawings
- Solid understanding of construction methods, structural systems, and detailing
practices
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary design teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
