You will partner with experienced engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams who are committed to sharing knowledge and supporting your growth. This is an opportunity to expand your engineering capabilities through a combination of design assignments, field experience, and increasing project responsibility.

The position may be based in Frisco, Dallas, or Austin, TX, or Oklahoma City, OK. Project-related travel may be required.

What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare and review design calculations for new and existing bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other transportation structures.
  • Contribute to bridge assessments, evaluate repair options, and help develop construction drawings and specifications.
  • Apply applicable AASHTO, AISC, ACI, and state transportation agency criteria to engineering assignments.
  • Use structural analysis, design, modeling, and plan-production software to support project delivery.

  • Participate in field assignments, site visits, bridge assessments, and any construction-related activities as needed.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Engineer-in-Training certification, or the ability to obtain it within a reasonable period after joining STV.
  • Working knowledge of AASHTO, AISC, and ACI design codes.
  • Foundational knowledge of structural analysis and the behavior and design of steel and reinforced concrete.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technical tools.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach.

Additional Qualifications That Will Help You Succeed:

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • FHWA-NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges certification.
  • An understanding of structural analysis and the design of prestressed concrete structures.
  • Experience with structural analysis and design software such as OpenBridge Designer, LARSA, LEAP Bridge, CSiBridge, and STAAD.
  • Experience contributing to Department of Transportation projects and familiarity with design manuals and standards.
  • Experience using bridge and roadway design platforms such as OpenBridge Modeler, MicroStation, and OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
  • Exposure to field assignments, construction support, or evaluation of existing structures.

Why STV: At STV, you will be part of a welcoming, collaborative team working on transportation projects that make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve. You will have opportunities to learn from experienced professionals, broaden your technical skills, contribute to a variety of bridge assignments, and build a career that reflects your goals. We value technical curiosity, sound engineering judgment, clear communication, and willingness to collaborate. You will be encouraged to develop your strengths, pursue professional growth, and build a career path that reflects your technical and leadership goals.
