You will support satellite systems hardware with your teammates who are high-performing professionals in Mechanical & Structural Engineering. You will own the mechanical integrity of space flight and ground support hardware and be immersed in both nonrecurring and recurring engineering development work on existing and future space hardware including proposal, engineering development, qualification, build, and test support.
Position Responsibilities:
Implement the engineering statement of work for current and future satellite systems contracts in structural analysis with a focus on first-time quality, on-time engineering, cost, and schedule.
Lead development, integration, qualification, and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design.
Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish product environment.
Guide product design and verify structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models and simulations, and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics, and performance.
Lead development of test plans and configurations, support test execution, and analyze and report test results to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
Lead investigations into failures and analyze improvements.
Develop analytical processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the development effort.
Support supplier hardware development, production, and test activities to ensure that hardware integrates with design and meets system and vehicle requirements.
Perform structural analysis using well defined analysis tools (Patran, Nastran, Apex, Abaqus, HyperMesh, CREO-Simulate, Common Structures Workstation, or other tools) to develop the structural environment, characteristics, and performance.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. This worksite participates in Boeing’s 9/80 schedule rotation. 9/80 is a rotation in which employees can work 9 hour shifts, 8 days per pay period (bi-weekly).
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance/SCI for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A Final Post-Start Top Secret & Special Program Access.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
Associate (level 2): Typically, 2 or more years' related work experience
Stress analysis or structural analysis experience.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Mid-Career (level 3): Typically, 5 or more years' related work experience
Senior (level 4): Typically, 9 or more years' related work experience
Master of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
Space vehicle hardware experience.
Hardware development experience.
Experience solving complex problems.
Knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python, MATLAB, VBA, etc.).
Strong communication skills to interface with different program and customer teams
Experience working in a cross functional team environment and leading across engineering and non-engineering disciplines.

Senior (Level 4) Summary pay range: $ 111,350 – $ 150,650
Senior (Level 4) Summary pay range: $ 135,150 – $ 182,850
