Job Description

Hours per week: 37 hours

Fixed term: 23 months

Interview date: Week Commencing Monday 27 July 2026

We are seeking a skilled Assistant Team Manager to join our Stronger Families Team. You will work closely with the Team Manager and existing ATM to oversee and lead a dedicated team providing support to young people and their families across the county.

This is a key role, where you will manage senior outreach workers, and support in the rolling out of an increased reunification offer from our team. This will involve working closely with Children We Care for colleagues, foster carers and Children's Homes.

As the Assistant Team Manager, you will help oversee the running of the team, develop and implement interventions that support the reunification of young people back with their families following a period in care, and ensure that this work is planned and creates safety and stability. You will also supervise staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery in line with our practice standards.

Your experience should include managing staff, working with vulnerable young people and delivering support in challenging and rapidly changing situations. You will be expected to step into the Team Manager’s role during periods of absence and take responsibility for team operations, resource management and case coordination.

A relevant professional qualification, such as social work, youth work, or teaching, or extensive relevant experience is required, along with a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

If you’re passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people, we would love to hear from you.
