Job Description

Patient Transport is hiring for full-time entry level positions to fill an existing vacancy for Winnipeg region. No experience is necessary to join our growing company, as we offer extensive training to prepare you to transfer patients.

Being a Stretcher Attendant is an active and rewarding career, working as a team to help those in need of our services.

Duties and Responsibilities

    • Co-ordinating with your partner to provide excellent customer service to patients
    • Transferring stable patients between medical facilities
    • Taking patients home after a medical stay
    • Liaising with medical professionals
    • Documenting patient information and all relevant information related to the transport
    • Engaging with patients throughout the transfer
    • Monitoring patients and responding to their needs
    • Communicating with Dispatch
    • Following all Safety protocols and procedures

Requirements

    • Demonstrated kindness, compassion, and respect for others
    • Positive attitude with a professional demeanor
    • Self-motivated, punctual, and eager to learn
    • Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Ability to safely lift and transfer 250+ lbs. using a stretcher or stair chair in a team setting
    • Safe driving practices with a clean driving record

Certifications & Clearances (issued within the past 60 days)

    • Child Abuse Registry Check
    • Adult Abuse Registry Check
    • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
    • Standard First Aid with CPR (BLS)

Licensing Requirements

    • Valid Class 4F Driver’s License
    • Must currently hold a Class 5F license

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.05 per hour

Work Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba

To serve as many people in need as possible, Patient Transport operates 24/7. We are currently hiring for a rotating full time condensed work week of 48 hours- 4 x 12-hour shifts. Our team members work 4-day shifts, and then enjoy 4 days off. We encourage a work life balance and believe in supporting the health and wellbeing of our team members.
