
Streetscene Inspector (Streetworks) | 11066 | Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £32,061 to £33,699 per annum | (Grade G)| County Hall, Norwich base – working across Norfolk
We are looking for an organised and self-motivated individual to join our Streetworks team, working across Norfolk and based in Norwich. Ideally you will need to have experience of working in streetworks inspections, highway inspection duties, maintenance, construction, traffic management or other engineering environment.
The highway area teams are responsible for the street works functions for the County Council as highway authority. Working with all works promoters including utility companies, developers and our own highways team, key services include inspecting works whilst in progress and then on completion, identifying and recording compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991: Safety at Road Works and Street Works Code of Practice, Permit Conditions, Specification for Reinstatement of Openings in the Highway and checking sites have been cleared when the works have been completed.
This particular post will primarily be involved with the streetworks/network management function, providing support to areas across the whole of Norfolk as required.
You will need to possess excellent communication skills in order to deliver high-quality customer service, as well as deal effectively with contractors and utility companies on site and be councillor and public interface in relation to temporary works on the public highway.
Duties may involve the delivery of the service outside normal working hours. As this is a Norfolk-based post, regular travel across Norfolk will be required to deal with service requests, and you will need to be able to travel to places not accessible on public transport routes.
