Job Description

Our team and what we’ll accomplish together

The Corporate Citizenship & Communications (CC&C) team is responsible for telling our corporate story, amplifying our brand and elevating social purpose across TELUS. We are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager II to join our Strategy & Transformation team to evolve the way we work through the discovery, implementation and adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital platforms as toolsets that take us into the future of corporate communications.

What you’ll do

As a key player in our adoption of emerging technologies, you will support the strategic implementation of AI solutions and our digital ecosystem across CC&C and TELUS – introducing short-term and long-term operational efficiencies, identifying opportunities for expanding the scope of these initiatives, managing end-to-end projects, and generating excitement for and understanding of emerging technologies.

  • Develop and execute AI transformational projects from ideation to implementation, bridging technical and business priorities, with clear KPIs (e.g. adoption rate of new tools, cost savings, efficiency gains)
  • Drive skill-building, development and adoption of AI tools, to facilitate the understanding and use of these solutions across CC&C
  • Partner with IT and architecture teams to define technical requirements for platform consolidation, including API integrations, Single Sign-On (SSO) implementation and data mapping to ensure a seamless "single source of truth" across the digital ecosystem
  • Audit existing intranets and legacy repositories to design a scalable Information Architecture (IA); define metadata schemas and taxonomies that optimize searchability and ensure data integrity during complex migrations
  • Research industry trends and emerging technologies, and make recommendations for their integration across the team and TELUS
  • Provide regular updates and executive storytelling to senior leaders and stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges and recommendations

Qualifications

What you bring

You thrive at the intersection of technology and people. You're equally comfortable discussing API architecture with engineers and change management strategies with communications teams. You see digital transformation not as a technical problem, but as a business and cultural challenge. You're detail-oriented yet strategic, and you understand that the best platform is one that people actually use.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across functions and negotiate between technical and business teams
  • Proven track record of leading digital transformations and platform consolidations, with a solid grasp of how CMS, HRIS and collaborative toolsets interact via APIs
  • A systems-thinking mindset – you don’t just move content, you understand how data structures and user permissions impact the long-term scalability of a digital workplace
  • Exceptional communication and executive storytelling skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and comfortably present to a leadership audience
  • Solid project management fundamentals, with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as strong business literacy to understand how technical decisions impact organizational goals

Great-to-haves

  • A passion for and interest in emerging technologies and trends, with a focus on AI
  • University degree in business, computer science, communications or a related discipline
  • PMP certification OR an associate PM designation

Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its international scope.
