POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT

The Strategy, Marketing, & Communications (SMC) Specialist supports the Dallas Business Unit by executing integrated SMC initiatives that drive visibility, alignment, and business enablement. Working closely with the SMC Manager, this role supports strategic initiatives, marketing and creative deliverables, and internal and external communications to strengthen business alignment and elevate Moss’ presence in the market.

As ourBusiness StrategySpecialist,you will supportthe Dallas Business Unit (BU) bytaking meaningful ownership of strategic projects and executing integrated initiatives that drive visibility, alignment, and business enablement.You will move beyond foundational supportto independently lead cross-functional workstreams, develop data-driven recommendations, and help shape the stories that drive Moss forward.

This role is ideal for a motivated professional who has built a solid foundation in business strategy or a related field and is ready to operate with greater autonomy, influence cross-functional conversations, and developthestrategic acumenneeded togrow into a trusted thought partner for BU leaders and senior stakeholders. Youwill collaborate closely with the Strategy, Marketing, and Communications manager and the broader team, contributing to fresh perspectives while continuing to grow your strategic toolkit.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the SMC manager to develop and implement strategic initiatives critical to the Dallas BU’s success, aligning priorities with business objectives.

  • Conduct research and gather market intelligence to inform BU strategy, support business planning, and identify emerging opportunities.

  • Support quarterly and annual business planning processes by preparing presentations, reports, and visual materials that communicate BU performance, initiatives, and alignment to company strategy.

  • Support the development of presentations and materials for leadership, client, and team meetings to effectively communicate strategic objectives and results.

  • Independently manage cross-functional projects with internal stakeholders to gather inputs and drive progress.

  • Support senior leaders and business unit partners by identifying and anticipating needs, asking thoughtful questions, and translating ambiguous challenges into structured plans.

  • Develop and maintain project plans timelines, and tracking mechanisms to ensure on-time delivery and stakeholder alignment.

  • Craft compelling narratives and communication materials tailored to diverse internal audiences, including leadership and executive teams.

  • Contribute to the identification of best practices, process improvements, and opportunities for strategic innovation across the business unit.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one-to-two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Preferred 2-3 years of experience in business strategy development, marketing, communications or related.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Management or related.

  • MBA preferred.

  • Strong analytical and presentation skills using MS office (Excel, PP, Word).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Capable of building extensive knowledge of the business and competitors in support of strategies.

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, flexible, able to multitask, and an excellent team player.

  • Possess a strong work ethic and exercise a high level of maturity with a positive attitude.

  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking abilities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Expert in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator, Keynote 

  • Level 6: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one-to-two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • 4-year college degree, preferably in marketing or communications

  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the AEC industry
