About the role

Join Origin’s innovative startup venture, Kinergy, as the Strategy & Market Analysis Manager to drive international growth by identifying market opportunities and enhancing our market leading platform for new regions. We are seeking a strategic and analytical market specialist whose expertise will be instrumental in unlocking value at an international scale. In this pivotal role, your analysis will have a direct influence on Origin’s global expansion.

You'll work alongside our Head of Commercial Strategy and Client Solutions, seamlessly blending market intelligence, commercial acumen, and technical expertise to deliver tangible results and impact.

In this role, you will:

• Critically assess and identify existing and emerging value pools, revenue streams and participation rules across global energy markets, leading engagement with internal and external stakeholders where necessary
• Evaluate regulatory requirements, estimate commercial opportunity, technical readiness and provide recommendations on target markets
• Translate settlement rules, dispatch logic and qualification criteria into clear requirements for our optimisation engine and trading algorithms.
• Monitor international policy and market developments, distil insights, and influence strategic decisions.
• Develop and present market insights, investment cases and commercial structures for senior leaders and international clients.
• Work closely with engineering, product, delivery teams to turn analysis into operational reality.

About you

Your enthusiasm will lie in enhancing value for Kinergy clients within global energy markets. You will bring demonstrated experience in energy markets, flexibility, wholesale trading, global markets, or VPPs, along with strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large data sets. You will also have:

• A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Economics, Business, or Engineering.
• Deep understanding of electricity market design and flexibility mechanisms
• Ability to turn complex concepts into simple, actionable strategic insights
• Confident communicator across technical, commercial and executive audiences
• Comfortable with ambiguity; proactive, innovative and commercially minded
• Ability to be a self-starter and independently solution complicated problems
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Willingness to work within client timezones and travel internationally as needed.
• Global utility experience or knowledge in international energy markets (desirable)
• Proficiency in more than one language (desirable)
