Your Key Accountabilities

Job Purpose of this role

We are currently looking for a Strategy Manager for our Recycling Business Group, based in Brussels, Belgium. In this role you are part of the Corporate Development Team of Umicore, and you will contribute to the development, review and implementation of the strategies of Business Group Recycling and the Recycling Business Units. You take an active role in putting strategy into action, defining strategic priorities, managing key strategic projects and ensuring execution by translating strategy into roadmaps & initiatives and providing regular updates to the Management Teams, Executive Leadership Team and Supervisory Board.

Your Key Accountabilities

Manage selected strategic projects at the level of Business Group Recycling and its Business Units under the guidance of the Strategy Director, including growth strategy initiatives, partnership development projects, and transformation program management

· Set-up of project incl. definition of objective, scope, timeline & governance

· Gathering of information & input from diverse stakeholders and driving of content discussions

· Conducting analysis, challenging of input and deriving conclusions

· Preparation of presentations and alignment with key stakeholders

·Iteration and alignment with manager on interim results and progress

·If applicable: Support in selection, onboarding and liaison with external consultants

Drive the translation of strategy and ambitions into roadmaps and initiatives, while managing the project management office and strategy performance dialogue at BU level incl. definition of processes, governance, tools & templates, dashboards and reports

· Determination of objectives/ambitions and deriving of key focus areas for BU/Group

·Translation of objectives/ambitions into roadmaps and initiatives in strong liaison with different functions and departments

·Tracking of progress and reporting of status to top management incl. identification of key risks, mitigation actions and need for re-focus

Support in and driving the long-term strategic planning, strategy development and review

·Development of market update in close liaison with market intelligence; determination of external & internal changes, opportunities & risks

·Deriving key strategic questions in close alignment with main stakeholders

Gathering of information, conducting analysis and deriving conclusions on key strategic questions

Actively support analysis and preparation of files and presentations for the top management incl. BU Management Team, ELT, SB,

· Ad-hoc support in selected analysis and preparation of presentations

· Driving preparation of presentations for the top management incl. definition of storyline, coordination between functions and departments, and challenging of input

Who we are looking for
  • Master degree preferably in Business, Economics or Engineering
  • Relevant working experience (5-8 years) with exposure to industrial, metals and mining activities, processes and technology; preferably in Management / Strategy consulting
  • Strategic insight, excellent analytical skills and apt to structure and independently drive complex projects
  • Pragmatic approach towards strategy formulation and implementation
  • Self-driven and motivated to learn and to deliver excellent results
  • Experienced in delivering projects, well organized, able to prioritize and manage tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication, presentation and inter-personal skills
  • Team player and motivator within multi-national and multi-disciplinary teams

• • Proficient in English and Dutch, German is a plus
