The Valves Strategic Sourcing Manger will negotiate with dedicated providers according to specific policies. Achieve the best contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction. Positions requiring thorough understanding, application and mastery of approaches, theories, methodologies and application in a concrete organizational context.
Typical Scope (Subsea Valves)
Commodity coverage:
Subsea valves (ball, gate, check, HIPPS, choke valves)
Machined components, forgings, castings
Actuation systems and assemblies
Supplier base: global (Europe, UK, US, India, Asia)
Spend scope: typically multi‑million to $100M+ category responsibility
As a Strategic Sourcing Manager you will be responsible for:
Establish and manage strategic supplier partnerships for subsea valves and critical components, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives, technology roadmaps, and project delivery requirements
Lead the development, negotiation, and implementation of Long-Term Agreements (LTAs), frame agreements, and partnership models with key suppliers to secure capacity, cost competitiveness, and risk mitigation
Structure agreements to include pricing mechanisms, capacity commitments, lead-time guarantees, quality expectations, and continuous improvement targets
Drive collaborative supplier engagement models (early supplier involvement, design-to-cost, VA/VE initiatives) to enhance value beyond transactional sourcing
Ensure all strategic agreements support total cost of ownership (TCO), lifecycle cost optimization, and supply chain resilience
Maintain governance of LTAs, including performance tracking, compliance monitoring, and periodic renegotiation aligned to market conditions and business demand
Acting as the commercial owner of key supplier relationships, ensuring proactive alignment on forecast demand, technology capability, and long-term development plans

Partner with:
Engineering (spec alignment, technical clarifications)
Quality (supplier qualification, NCR resolution)
Manufacturing / Ops (delivery performance, escalation)
Project / Tender teams (bid phase sourcing strategy)
Act as primary escalation point for supply disruptions and performance issues
Supplier Management & Development
Own relationships with key valve and machining suppliers globally
Lead supplier selection, qualification, and audits (technical + QMS + HSE)
Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and performance management (KPIs, scorecards)
Drive supplier development initiatives (capacity, localization, cost reduction)
Commercial & Contracting Leadership
Lead RFQs, bid evaluations, and sourcing decisions
Negotiate pricing, LTAs, framework agreements, and project-specific contracts
Optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) including logistics, testing, and lifecycle costs
Ensure alignment with commercial, legal, and compliance requirements
Cost & Performance Delivery
Deliver year-on-year cost savings and productivity targets
Analyze spend, should-cost models, and cost breakdowns
Drive continuous improvement initiatives (VA/VE, design-to-cost, standardization)
Manage budget adherence and cost forecasting

Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with experience in Sourcing).
Strategic sourcing & category management

Experience managing global supply chains and complex categories
