The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional partners — including People & Culture, Legal, Risk, and business stakeholders — to define sourcing strategies, optimize supplier relationships, and ensure that procurement solutions align with business objectives.

This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who excels in complex environments and is comfortable working with vendor ecosystems, data-driven decision-making, and regulatory frameworks within a large organization.

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 3–4 days in office)
Contract Length: 6 Months (Extension or FTE Conversion Possible)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Elicit, document, and validate sourcing requirements through stakeholder engagement, market analysis, and business needs assessment.
  • Translate business objectives into actionable sourcing strategies, supplier selection processes, and contract negotiation plans.
  • Conduct market research, supplier evaluations, and risk assessments to support sourcing decisions and category strategies.
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives including RFI/RFP processes, vendor selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Develop and maintain sourcing documentation, supplier agreements, and procurement artifacts aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and compliance teams to ensure contracts meet regulatory, risk, and control requirements.
  • Support supplier relationship management by monitoring performance, identifying opportunities for value creation, and mitigating risks.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks, dependencies, and change impacts across sourcing initiatives.
  • Prepare clear, concise documentation and reports for stakeholders, including sourcing strategies, business cases, and performance metrics.
  • Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with procurement policies, enterprise standards, and regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and contract negotiation, preferably within financial services or large enterprise organizations.
  • Proven experience delivering sourcing initiatives across vendor management, category management, and contract execution.
  • Strong understanding of procurement lifecycle processes, sourcing methodologies, and supplier risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including competitive events (RFI/RFP) and contract negotiations.
  • Experience working within regulated environments and collaborating with Legal, Risk, and compliance stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis, with the ability to synthesize insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, negotiate effectively, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Preferred

  • Experience in large enterprise or regulated financial institutions.
  • Familiarity with supplier risk frameworks, third-party risk management, and procurement governance models.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience, including working with senior leadership.
  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related discipline.
