Aegis Protective Services is seeking a dynamic and strategic recruiter to lead high-volume recruiting efforts primarily focused on security officer and operational positions across multiple markets. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the challenges of recruiting hourly workforce populations, and brings creativity, urgency, and strategic thinking to talent acquisition.
While the primary focus will be frontline security recruiting, this position will also support occasional recruiting efforts for corporate staff and technical roles supporting Aegis’ growing electronic and technology security business segment.
This role is primarily based out of Aegis’ Cincinnati headquarters to support close collaboration with Operations, Recruiting, and HR leadership teams.
The Strategic Recruiter reports directly to the COO and partners closely with the Director of Human Resources as a peer. This role also partners with hiring managers and field operations leadership to drive recruiting strategy, improve hiring outcomes, and support onboarding success. This position will formally supervise the Recruiting staff and play a key role in strengthening recruiting processes, sourcing strategies, and workforce planning initiatives.
This role requires a recruiter who can operate with urgency, build strong partnerships with field leadership, and balance high-volume hiring demands with long-term workforce quality and retention.

HR Operations & Compliance Partnership
• Serve as the primary recruiting-side partner to the Director of Human Resources, operating as a peer within the HR structure
• Maintain clear, consistent communication with the HR Operations team on candidate status, anticipated start dates, and onboarding readiness, ensuring no new hire falls through the gap between offer acceptance and Day 1
• Coordinate on compliance readiness for all incoming hires: confirm that background checks, state guard licensing, I-9 documentation (oversee E-Verify), and any pre-employment requirements are on track before deployment
• Establish and maintain a defined handoff process between recruiting, HR Operations and Guard Scheduling, including documentation standards, timing expectations, and escalation paths for onboarding issues
• Collaborate on process continuity across the full employee lifecycle, particularly during periods of high hiring volume or team transition
Recruiting Team Leadership
• Formally supervise Recruiting & Onboarding staff, with direct accountability for their performance, development, and day-to-day direction

• Promote Aegis’ culture, professionalism, and mission when representing the organization to candidates and external partners
• Ensure timely communication and follow-up with candidates and hiring managers
• Help strengthen Aegis’ employer brand within the communities and markets served
Recruiting Operations & Process Improvement

• Experience recruiting hourly workforce populations strongly preferred
• Experience recruiting for security, healthcare, staffing, logistics, hospitality, retail, manufacturing, or similar operational environments preferred

• Demonstrated success using Indeed and other recruiting platforms to source and attract candidates
• Strong understanding of recruiting metrics, sourcing strategies, and talent pipeline development
• Experience partnering with operational leadership in a decentralized or multi-site environment
• Prior experience leading or mentoring recruiting staff preferred
• Strong communication, relationship-building, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with urgency, professionalism, and attention to detail
