  • Communicate and execute Arlo’s ODM sourcing and management strategies to achieve market and cost competitiveness for all projects.
  • Negotiate with key suppliers keeping cost, terms of service, supply and quality meeting Arlo’s requirements.
  • Own RFQ process. Partner and work with cross-functional teams to make ODM/supplier and component selections.
  • Contribute to product concept and roadmap development by providing market research, early supplier engagement and cost benchmarking.
  • Develop cost reduction strategy proposal to meet NPI launch target
  • Responsible for product cost and ODM performance throughout the entire product life cycle.
  • Lead all aspects of negotiations, including but not limited to contract terms, material cost and MVA to achieve the best-in-class total cost of ownership.
  • Actively look for cost optimization opportunities and lead cross-functional effort to achieve cost reduction target QoQ, YoY.
  • Support product cost related activities. Work closely with product line management, engineering, planning, tactical purchasing, finance and legal.
  • Build and strengthen the strategic relationships with ODMs. Be the escalation path for critical business issues.
  • Establish relationships with suppliers to partner on strategy development and drive productivity, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Identify risk in a rapidly dynamic business environment with suppliers to achieve sustainable procurement practices and business continuity.
  • Identify risk in cost impact from suppliers and provide mitigation plan to protect financial stability in Arlo.Maintain the unit cost in Arlo’s Oracle system to ensure the data is correctly updated in timely basis to avoid financial impact.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Excellent written & verbal communication, engagement, and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of market trends for IoT solutions, supply chain management, accounting, and business operations.
  • Exceptional negotiation experience, knowledge of procurement best-practices, knowledge of contracts, diplomacy, and strong ability to lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast–paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to maintain perspective and confidence in face of difficult price negotiations, exceptionally tight deadlines, and expectations.
  • Analytical thinker with a positive attitude and flexibility to accommodate evolving business needs.
  • Decision-Making: Must be able to assimilate the information gathered by yourself and others (internal & external) to recommend and make decisions.
  • Teamwork - This position requires a close working relationship internally with cross-functional team and externally with ODMs and suppliers.
  • Excellent excel and mathematics skills.
  • 5 + years electronics industry experience in a sourcing/purchasing, project management and/or supplier management role (preferably consumer electronics).
  • BS/BA/BEng degree plus 5 to 10 years’ working experience or equivalent.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese
