Job Title: Strategic Project Manager, Health and Healing (Identified)

Location: Collingwood, VIC (Hybrid Work Model)

Employment Type: 0.6-1FTE Flexible Full-time, Maximum-term (until June 2028)

Salary: $120,000-$130,000 per annum (plus super)

VACCHO is the peak representative for the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria.

We have 35 member Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations providing support to over 78,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the state. About the role

The Strategic Project Manager will work closely with representatives of the Victorian Cancer Screening Partnership (VCSF) (Australian Centre for Prevention of Cervical Cancer, BreastScreen Victoria and Cancer Council Victoria) and relevant VACCHO staff to optimise translation of Indigenous Data Sovereignty (IDSov) and Indigenous Data Governance (IDGov) principles across cancer screening and cancer more broadly. The role will continue implementation of the IDSov and IDGov in cancer screening Framework and expand implementation initiatives including continuation of the new established Co-governance Committee, facilitating discussions to support screening partners to translate knowledge learned, reviewing data and governance documentation. The role will develop strong relationships internally at VACCHO who can provide Indigenous Cultural Governance, Digital and Data Sharing Agreement Making Policy and Technical advice.

Essential skills/experiences

To be successful in this role, you will need a demonstrated experience as a Strategic Project Manager. You will have sound judgement, a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, and strong communication skills, with willingness to take the initiative.

Knowledge and Experience

• Sound governance knowledge and experience
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role/s in health, community services, research, data analytics, or complimentary sectors
• A high-level understanding of IDSov and IDGov, including FAIR and CARE principles and Maiam nayri wingara principles or the capability to deepen current knowledge in order to confidently and competently lead discussions and act as a sounding board for cancer partners.
• Previous experience in delivering training and/or facilitation of robust discussions.
• Demonstrated proficiency and experience using Microsoft applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project Management) combined with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
