The Strategic Program Manager will play a key role in positioning Purpose Financial to deliver on its Executive Strategy through aligning the organization towards common objectives, monitoring and communicating strategic outcomes.

This role will facilitate cross functional collaboration to achieve alignment and delivery of the key initiatives with measurable milestones/success metrics. Evolve and execute effective governance and corporate strategy to ensure completion of the strategic initiatives and priorities in pursuit of delivering business outcomes aligned with a 3-year strategic plan.

This individual must be self-motivated, flexible, and willing to learn and develop new skills as business needs change.

This role operations within the Office of Strategy and regularly interfaces with executive management.

Job Responsibility

Strategic Vision and Key Initiatives Collaboration

  • Demonstrate an analytical and strategic mindset by effectively communicating Purpose Financials’ strategic vision and engaging strategic initiative leaders and business sponsors to build a strategic roadmap.
  • Conduct competitor comparisons and assess initiatives or strategic projects benefits / costs to identify opportunities to translate insights into actionable recommendations, prioritize investments, maximize value creation.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of our business capabilities and key elements of business strategies to ensure informed decision-making and maintain the strategic roadmap outlining OKRs, key activities, success metrics, milestones, and timelines.
  • Execute and improve strategic initiative governance framework to improve accountability, transparency, and consistency and ensure all key initiatives collectively achieving enterprise scorecard and Purpose Financial strategic vision.
  • Identify dependencies & impediments to the strategic roadmap, collaborating with relevant teams to remediate issues and escalate when necessary.
  • Develop contents to deliver meaningful updates to the organization, external parties, and stakeholders on Purpose Financial’s key initiatives and overall strategic achievement.

Strategic Planning & Key Initiatives Performance Management

  • Collaborate with FP&A to oversee Purpose Financial’s 3-year strategic plan process, ensuring seamless alignment between the key initiatives and desired strategic goals.
  • Manage strategic plan review, evaluation, and communications to ensure the effective organizational goals and OKRs alignment and promote a comprehensive understanding of the strategic goals across the organizations.
  • Collaborate with Finance and the key initiative leads to managing business reviews, including setting objectives and managing agenda, preparing and compiling contents, communications, and follow-up on actions items and track progress between business reviews. Seek feedback and continuously improve business review process.

Project governance and strategic project management

  • Identify opportunities to improve the project governance process to support operation model transformation and strategic project execution.
  • Partnership with the product owners (PO) and technical leaders as well as actively participating in PO planning to ensure all ideas are properly prioritized based on resources and expected outcomes.
  • Maintain strong relationships within the company to effect change and influence desired outcomes.
  • Undertake any other duties as appropriate.

Education Required

Bachelor’s degree required

Experience Required

  • 5+ years of experience working in strategy or strategic program performance management function in a cross-functional environment. Financial service industry preferred.
  • 3+ years of strategic planning and performance management experience.
  • 3+ years of strategic project management and governance experience, including tracking and planning projects and communicating progress to senior management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data analysis, and visualization are required. Technical proficiency in Tableau is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret data insights, identify opportunities, and influence changes at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations.
  • Analytical and critical thinker with ability to connect and facilitate multiple people/functions towards a common outcome.
  • Ability to adapt to change and competing demands.

Knowledge Required

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills needed to communicate in person, by phone, and through email; adaptability and flexibility to changing environment; and comfortable working in a dynamic, high volume, demanding environment.

Ability to interact professionally and exhibit appropriate social skills. Ability to understand and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws governing our industry/business and products. Ability to develop and maintain business relationships. Ability to quickly learn and successfully utilize any technology related to the role. Must have a good understanding of technology and operations, particularly in consumer financial operations. Has an in-depth understanding of financial services preferred.
