Overview

Bowhead Information Technologies Service is seeking a highly skilled and motivated candidate to join a high-performance team working within the Headquarters Space Operations Command (SpOC) S55 Plans and Integration branch at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado.

S55 contributes to development of SpOC joint level and contingency planning, COOP, and other planning efforts in support of National, DoD, Air Force, and Space Force mission needs. In this role you will be providing technical expertise in policy, strategy review, and doctrine analysis and support SpOC’s efforts in developing and analyzing joint level and contingency plans, HQ SpOC COOP, and other planning efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise in support at all levels in the development of the command’s plans. Act as the technical expert for joint planning, Special Access Program (SAP) level planning and contingency planning, COOP, FLDCOM Strategic Plans, and FLDCOM planning efforts to standup Mission Deltas.• Support pre-development working groups, joint and contingency support plan development, and other planning efforts as directed.• Conduct research, performing mission analysis, leading operational planning teams, leading and authoring draft reviews, preparing coordination packages, tracking suspense’s, and working with internal and external agencies to prepare signature packages for General Officer/Senior Executive Service approval.• Conduct research and analysis of new Combatant Command (CCMD) plans and recommending adjusting HQ SpOC support plans as required through Requests for Support (RFS).• Provide recommendations for the best course of action for plan development at all levels and assisting in the refinement of plans at all levels for the command.• Recommend changes and updates based upon organizational changes and the evolution of the future environment and ensuring compliance with governing instructions and policies.• Track all command plans and support plans in development, approved or archived for USSF.• Analyze campaign and contingency plans and COOP Plans describing the impacts to the warfighter and providing recommendations regarding the impact to Space Force.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS required or MA/MS, 7+ years of relevant Joint Operations Planning experience in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of experience with operational planning, Contingency Planning, or Continuity of Operations (COO) planning at HQ and operational levels.• Experience in providing strategic advice, technical guidance, analysis, and recommendations for space missions and program challenges• Experience with Combatant Command or HQ SpOC staffing process and procedures.• Ability to successfully operate at the General Officer / Flag Officer (GO/FO) level. • Specific skills, knowledge, and comprehension to perform all task functions quickly and accurately without supervision or assistance.• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret level with SCI eligibility. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.

Targeted salary range is $120,000 to $140,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.
