Job Description

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, in the payments, e-commerce/retail, technology industries on EMEA market.
  • Experience in signing and negotiating agreements, business development, partner management, or product management in an internet or technology environment.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Ability to communicate in English and French fluently as this is a customer-facing role that requires interactions with local and international stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree or other advanced degree.
  • Experience managing complex, end-to-end partnerships.
  • Experience working autonomously in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
  • Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with strategic partners.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

From enabling mobile payments to reducing mobile checkout friction, to digitizing transit in major cities; the Payments Partnerships team works closely with Product and top partners to develop engaging commerce experiences globally. Google navigates the intersection of complex industries (e.g., financial services, retail). Managing successful relationships in this ecosystem requires the entire organization to be strategically aligned. To that end, the Payments Partnership team will help lead, manage, and grow these strategic partnerships. Google needs experienced leaders to help further its business and relationships in financial services and payments. The work spans many products, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in Google's Product Development, Engineering, Go-to-Market, Marketing and Legal organisations.

In this role, you will focus on technical setup, launch finalization, and senior-level contract negotiation with Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM/Paris Metro), post-launch coordination, and optimizing key financial institutions and online merchants.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the final, highly complex contract negotiations and signature process with one of the top transit partners in France, aiming for a successful contract closing.
  • Coordinate post-launch activities cross-functionally with Marketing and PR teams to define and execute the launch communication plan, ensuring a seamless rollout.
  • Act as the strategic lead for the IDFM initiative through its final lifecycle phases, managing risk and aligning internal and external stakeholders to meet strict project timelines.
  • Partner with the rest of the BD team to support high-stakes negotiations, deepen senior bank relationships, and drive card portfolio launches on Google Wallet.
  • Partner with the rest of the BD team to manage key Google Pay Online API accounts (focusing on flagship Transit partners) and execute commercial campaigns to accelerate adoption and transaction volume.
