What You’ll Do
The Market Analyst supports Freeman Health System’s enterprise strategic planning, program growth, acquisition integration, and capital planning efforts through advanced analytics, financial modeling, and market intelligence. This individual contributor partners closely with executive leadership, Strategy, Finance, and clinical leaders to provide data-driven insights that inform service line expansion, physician recruitment, market expansion, and long-range financial planning. The role plays a key analytical support function in the strategic integration of acquired entities and the scaling of enterprise programs across the Freeman system.
Responsibilities:
Support enterprise strategy development related to program growth, service line expansion, and market positioning.
Provide analytical support for the strategic integration of acquired hospitals, physician groups, and ancillary services.
Evaluate alignment of acquired assets with Freeman’s clinical, operational, and financial strategy.
Support development of post-acquisition growth plans, including service line rationalization, access expansion, and network optimization.
Partner with physician leadership and recruitment teams to assess service line growth opportunities tied to provider recruitment and retention.
Perform market demand, utilization, and access analyses across priority service lines.
Conduct geospatial market assessments using ArcGIS, including drive-time, leakage, referral, and network coverage analyses.
Support competitive, demographic, and population health analyses to inform growth and access strategies.
Utilize industry-standard strategic planning tools (e.g., SG2, Arc GIS, Tableau, Excel Power Query, Power BI) to support market sizing, demand forecasting, and long-range growth planning.
Develop detailed financial pro formas for new programs, service line expansion, physician recruitment, capital investments, and acquisitions.
Build multi-year cash flow projections and scenario-based financial models (expected, best-case, worst-case).
Aggregate initiative-level models into enterprise portfolio views to assess EBITDA impact, capital requirements, and integration timing.
Partner with Finance to align models with budgeting, capital planning, and long-range financial planning processes.
Develop executive dashboards and analytics using Tableau and/or Power BI to support strategic decision-making.
Support tracking and reporting of strategic plan initiatives, acquisition integration milestones, and EPMO portfolios.
Build repeatable, scalable analytical tools using advanced Excel and Power Query to improve consistency, transparency, and efficiency.
Prepare concise, board-ready materials and executive presentations related to strategy, growth initiatives, and integration efforts.
Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
Serve as a trusted analytical partner to Strategy, Finance, physician leadership, and operational teams.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Public Health, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Five (5) or more years of experience in healthcare analytics, strategy, finance, consulting, or system growth initiatives.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including financial modeling and scenario analysis.
Experience with business intelligence platforms (Tableau and/or Power BI).
Working knowledge of geospatial analytics tools (ArcGIS).
Experience with data transformation tools such as Excel Power Query.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience supporting executive-level decision-making.
