About This Role
HVAC Global Operations (Commercial and Residential) North America is seeking a skilled and experienced Strategic Inventory Specialist to join our Aftermarket team. The Strategic Inventory Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize inventory control, ensuring that stock levels meet customer demand without overstocking or shortages. The Strategic Inventory Specialist must have a strong background in supply chain management, sound communication skills, and strong analytical skillsets.
Data Integrity: Maintain accurate item records and planning parameters contributing to long-term supply chain objectives
Cross Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with procurement, operations, and planning teams to prevent stockouts and maintain ideal inventory levels
Strategic Stocking: Develop and implement stocking strategies to guarantee timely availability of materials for customer demand
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize stock and reduce excess inventory
Data Analysis: Analyze material usage trends and forecast future material requirements through several sites
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance material flow between warehouse sites
Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on material status, inventory levels and supply chain performance
Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all purchasing activities
Required Qualifications
Associate degree
3 + years of experience in material planning and purchasing
1+ year of data analysis (Microsoft Excel, PowerBI)
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time (domestic and international)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, or business administration
Master’s degree in supply chain management
Certification in APICS (Association for Supply Chain Management) or similar
Proficiency in material planning software and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or JDE
Experience in material planning, purchasing or inventory management in a manufacturing, warehouse or distribution environment
Experience with international sourcing and procurement
Analytical and problem-solving skills
English communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills
Work independently and as part of a team
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
