This role is designed to help you better understand the TD Insurance business, build on critical career skills, and broaden your professional network. The Life & Health Insurance Strategic Insights and Business Optimization team is part of the Product and Pricing team and is responsible for discovery of industry and competitive insights, market share measurement, competitive media tracking, financial analysis, assistance with strategic planning and forward-thinking guidance across all Life & Health products.

Job Description

Reporting to the Sr. manager, you will support the Life & Health Insurance Strategic Insights and Business Optimization team across many areas of the team's responsibilities including the following:

  • Contribute to continuous competitive monitoring via conducting research and analysis on overall industry trends and individual companies, leveraging both internal and external sources of information like press releases, quarterly earnings reports, conferences, etc.
  • Develop competitor profiles that highlight strategy, strengths and weaknesses, key products, market share, and expected actions.
  • Contribute to developing specialized insights reporting presentations to support business strategy and decisions including competitive updates for investor relations, executive updates, etc.
  • Support the assessment of new opportunities and creating business cases
  • Assist with developing and launching monthly newsletters
  • Collaborate with multiple teams across TD including Product, Actuarial, Sales Distribution, and Marketing teams to support internal strategies development and initiatives
  • Present competitive findings to support a growth mindset within the organization.
  • Provide input into the continuous optimization of TDI Life & Health's processes
  • Assist with planning team meetings and events
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate degree in Business, Finance, or related field
  • Creative and curious thinker who is not afraid to challenge the status quo
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen with a proven ability to conduct research on a variety of topics, analyze financial and non-financial information and synthesize information into clear and concise analysis and recommendations
  • Results-focused individual who can execute with excellence
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to influence business partners
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Desire to learn and grow
  • Demonstrated ability to focus and pay a lot of attention to detail
  • Contribution to a positive teamwork environment
  • Previous experience in Insurance and knowledge of the Life & Health insurances products would be an asset
