Job Description

Company Pathstone is a growing wealth management firm serving ultra-high net worth families, single family offices, foundations, and endowments. We are united by a clear purpose: to help clients pursue their Preferred Life — with clarity, confidence, and long-term support across the full landscape of wealth and well-being.

Our services include investment advisory, as well as integrated planning and coordination across key areas such as tax strategy, risk management guidance, wealth and estate planning support, philanthropic planning, and family governance — helping clients navigate complexity and make informed decisions aligned with their goals.

With more than 20 office locations and over $100 billion in client assets under management, advisory, administration, and related services, Pathstone has expanded significantly over the past five years, reflecting sustained momentum and continued investment in our team and platform.

Pathstone is committed to making a meaningful difference for clients and their families, while fostering a supportive, purpose-driven environment for our professionals. Team members are encouraged to pursue their interests and contribute to the firm’s culture through committees and initiatives that help shape our shared mission.

Our people are our greatest asset, and we offer a competitive, flexible benefits program designed to support life both inside and outside of work. Benefits include comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, flexible spending options, flexible PTO, life insurance, education support, a 401(k) plan, parental leave, and more.

Pathstone is seeking a highly capable Strategic Initiatives Associate to partner directly with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). This is not a traditional administrative role—it is a force-multiplier position designed to elevate the CMO’s effectiveness by creating space for high-impact strategic work and ensuring alignment, clarity, and momentum across key initiatives.

This individual will act as an extension of the CMO—prioritizing, organizing, and advancing work that sits at the center of Pathstone’s growth, brand evolution, and client experience transformation.

Ideally, this individual will have specific experience in supporting an executive in a similar role or position which includes the management of marketing and creative initiatives, understanding the nuances of working with creative teams, outside agencies, and the like.

Key Responsibilities:

Executive Enablement & Prioritization

  • Create and protect space for the CMO to focus on strategic priorities
  • Triage and manage communications (including email) based on context and importance
  • Act as a proxy in prioritizing initiatives, requests, and opportunities

Initiative Management & Alignment

  • Drive preparation, alignment, and follow-through across key initiatives
  • Translate ideas into structured plans, timelines, and actions
  • Coordinate across teams to ensure progress and accountability

Meeting & Decision Support

  • Prepare agendas, briefing materials, and pre-reads for critical meetings
  • Capture decisions, insights, and next steps—and ensure follow-through
  • Improve the quality and effectiveness of leadership meetings

Information Flow & Systems

  • Build systems to organize priorities, surface key insights, and reduce noise
  • Synthesize information across conversations and workstreams into clear actions
  • Maintain visibility into interdependencies across projects

Qualifications:

  • 5–10+ years in a Executive Assistant, Chief of Staff, or strategy, consulting, or similar role
  • Experience supporting senior executives in fast-paced environments
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to operate independently
  • Systems thinker who brings structure to complexity

What Success Looks Like:

  • The CMO is operating at a consistently higher strategic level
  • Priorities are clear, aligned, and advancing efficiently
  • Meetings are purposeful and outcome-driven
  • Communication is streamlined and contextualized
  • Key initiatives move forward with clarity and momentum

Pay Transparency: Pathstone’s expected starting base compensation range for the position as of the time of this posting is $75,000 - $90,000 per year.
