
Freese and Nichols is seeking a senior engineering consulting leader to serve as the Strategic Initiatives and Applied Technology Director in our Growth and Technical Organization. We welcome candidates from any of our office locations The Strategic Initiatives and Applied Technology Director spearheads the implementation of growth and technical strategic initiatives to achieve firmwide objectives and leads the research, development, and implementation functions to develop new and emerging technologies that enhance project delivery, operational efficiency, and design quality. This strategic leader reports directly to the firm’s Chief Growth and Technical Officer and collaborates with other Growth and Technical directors, engineering teams, project managers, and clients to implement initiatives and align technology solutions with business goals.
Responsibilities
Engage in strategic planning efforts to align firm-wide research and development and applied technologies programs with strategic and operational objectives.
Oversee the execution of a firm-wide technology strategy, including evaluating and integrating technology solutions for FNI’s suite of services.
Mentor and coach organizational leaders on new tools and methodologies to build and strengthen internal capabilities.
Provide expert guidance and support to project teams on the application of advanced software, including BIM/CAD, GIS, and 3D modeling.
Identify and advocate for R&D efforts in applied technologies and in support of firm-wide strategies.
Collaborate with the Technical Excellence Director to optimize engineering processes by integrating new software and workflows.
Facilitate communication and technical coordination with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders, effectively explaining complex technological concepts.
Collaborate with the Technical Excellence Director to implement technical standards, leading internal quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures for technology-driven project deliverables.
Collaborate on proposals and bids by providing innovative technical solutions that demonstrate the firm's leadership in applied technology.
Monitor organizational performance on complex projects and develop strategies to continuously improve performance through improved technology solutions.
