About NEAC

The National Energy Analysis Centre (NEAC) is a CSIRO-led, next-generation digital research infrastructure that will drive and inform Australia's energy transition to net zero. NEAC offers a systems-science approach, combining technical data with human behaviour insights to support faster, smarter energy innovation. It connects real people, physical test facilities, and sophisticated modelling to support researchers, innovators, and policymakers in shaping the energy landscape of the future.

NEAC includes:

  • The Living Lab – a real-world data network of homes, businesses and energy users
  • The Systems Science Toolbox – a comprehensive model suite for Australia's entire energy system
  • Physical Infrastructure Integration – connections to CSIRO facilities for testing and simulation

The opportunity

As part of the NEAC team, the Strategic Engagement Officer will contribute to the operation of the NEAC Living Lab, supporting recruitment campaigns and ensuring that participants in the Living Lab gain value from their participation through tailored energy insights and information.

Your high-level duties will include:

  • Support the Strategic Engagement Lead in the ​attraction, acquisition and activation of new NEAC Living Lab participants in alignment with NEAC's business strategy, service roadmap, and project priorities
  • Work with external providers to deliver targeted social media advertising for recruitment of Living Lab participants
  • Manage recruitment campaigns when required
  • Support the Strategic Engagement Lead on newsletters for Living Lab participants and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to the content calendar, and research, source and curate content for Living Lab participants
  • Publish research findings provided by researchers in the NEAC portal
  • Draft and publish home energy-specific blog posts and web content in the NEAC portal
  • Create and manage discussion boards and polls within the NEAC portal
  • Support the NEAC Living Lab helpdesk team when required
  • Maintain the privacy of participants by ensuring that no personal information is shared beyond the CSIRO team, except with explicit consent of the participant
  • Take personal responsibility for client satisfaction and correct problems promptly and in a constructive manner

Role particulars

Location and office arrangements: Newcastle, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra or Perth. Other locations with a CSIRO presence may be considered.

Salary: AU$100k – AU$113k per annum (pro rata for part-time), plus 15.4% superannuation

Tenure & work schedule: Specified term of 2 years; Part-time.

As the successful candidate, you will bring:

Essential

  • Knowledge of, and interest in, the home energy sector
  • Strong writing capability with experience in content development and planning
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable

  • Digital Marketing skills
  • Data visualisation skills
