We are on a growth journey – now looking for an experiences Strategic Buyer for supporting our Recreational Vehicle OE segment.

About the position

As a Strategic Buyer, you will be involved in managing different EMEA level sourcing and purchasing projects with plastic and metal raw material.

Your main responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the assigned subcategories, set up category management team to define and execute category strategy
  • Identification of purchasing projects and savings potentials
  • Deployment of projects and tasks within the goals set by the Sourcing manager
  • Tracking and monitoring budgeted saving projects execution
  • Reporting to the LVE Exterior Sourcing Manager
  • Collection and bundling of all purchasing volumes at all locations linked to LVE Exterior Sub-Segment
  • Active supporting role in DPDP / DPIP projects in coordination with the responsible Sourcing Project Manager colleagues
  • Market analysis and price development and creation of measures
  • Establishing close working relationships with internal teams (e.g. PD, PM, SCM, Sales)
  • Identify and qualify suppliers & participation in supplier audits
  • Preparation of make-or-buy decisions under consideration of target costs, TCO
  • Conclusion of contracts for the development of delivery strategies
  • Supplier development and building a supplier relationship
  • Ensuring the material supply in the EMEA plants in cooperation with SCM; e.g. development and implementation of SCM services in the EMEA plants (Kanban / JIT, consignation stock)
  • Other tasks as specified by the Head of Sourcing LVE and LVE Exterior Sourcing Manager

A suitable background would be the following in terms of qualifications and experiences:

  • Degree in industrial engineering, economics or technical studies with appropriate market knowledge desirable, alternatively commercial training with a focus on sourcing / materials management
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in strategic purchasing / category management.
  • Experience in international procurement with category management setup
  • Experience in international environment, using integrated platforms
  • Ability to quickly analyze numbers, data and facts, prepare and give presentations, ability to convince decision makers
  • Good understanding of HCC - LCC sourcing strategy, relocation project experience
  • Intercultural understanding and empathy
  • Experience in price and contract negotiation
  • Project management and stakeholder management experience
