The opportunity


We’re looking for an experienced Strategic Buyer – Direct Materials to strengthen our global procurement team. You’ll manage a largely European supply market, with selective sourcing from Asia and world-wide, and play a critical role in ensuring production availability, our top priority.


This role is ideal for a proactive, commercially minded sourcing professional who thrives in a complex, international environment and enjoys driving supplier performance, cost optimization, and long-term value creation.


How you’ll make an impact

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to meet business objectives

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships

  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed of industry trends and best practices

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of procurement strategies with overall business goals

  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, ensuring compliance with quality standards and delivery timelines, and continuous supplier development

  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements

  • Negotiate contracts and coordinate supplier integration plans with internal clients

  • Monitor market dynamics that impact materials/services availability and/or pricing

  • Partner with internal clients to identify sourcing needs, support product development projects, identify demand, supply and market trends


Your background

  • Master’s degree in science and supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement, preferably in a senior role

  • Proven negotiation and contract management skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, including SAP4HANA

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

  • Fluent in German and English
