As Business Manager, you build and operate the business models, scenarios, and forecasts that inform how Health Catalyst invests, prices, and grows across its product and services portfolio. This is a strategic, high-impact role partnering with the Chief of Staff and senior leaders to turn strategy into rigorous, decision-ready analysis.
To succeed, you should be fluent in business and financial modeling, scenario planning, and forecasting, comfortable developing business cases for new and existing offerings, and able to distill complex analysis into clear recommendations for executive and Board audiences.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain integrated business models, P&L scenarios, and forecasts that inform strategic, investment, and pricing decisions across the product and services portfolio
Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analyses, scenario plans, and business cases with clear assumptions, sensitivities, and recommendations
Develop business cases for new offerings, investments, and portfolio changes — quantifying market opportunity, unit economics, and risk
Partner with Finance, Product, and Go-To-Market leaders to pressure-test growth, margin, and portfolio decisions
Support annual operating and long-range planning cycles, contributing models and inputs that shape leadership and Board materials
Define and track the KPIs and unit economics that connect strategy to operating performance
Synthesize market, competitive, and internal data into clear, actionable insights for the CEO and executive team
Prepare executive-ready analyses, presentations, and recommendations for the Chief of Staff, CEO, and Board
Recommended Skills and Experience
MBA (or equivalent) plus 5+ years in business strategy, strategic finance/FP&A, corporate strategy, management consulting, or a comparable analytical role
Demonstrated expertise building and operating business and financial models, scenario analyses, and forecasts
Must have hands-on experience leveraging Generative AI, applying current industry best practices to accelerate modeling, analysis, and decision support
Experience in technology businesses, ideally spanning both product (e.g., SaaS) and services portfolios
Strong command of business-case development, unit economics, and evidence-based recommendations
Proven ability to communicate and present complex analysis to senior executives (written, verbal, visual)
A passion for healthcare and the role Health Catalyst plays in making massive, measurable, data-informed improvements through data and analytics
Healthcare or healthcare IT experience a plus; advanced Excel and PowerPoint required, BI tools (e.g., Power BI) a plus
Results-oriented self-starter who collaborates effectively across teams and maintains a respectful work environment
Information Security and Compliance Responsibilities
