Tempel is looking to add a Strategic Account Manager to our team. The Strategic Account Manager will be responsible for growing sales and market share within assigned strategic accounts and territories while strengthening Tempel’s position as a trusted business partner for electric motor cores.
This role requires strong relationship management, commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and collaboration across multiple departments including Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Quality, and Customer Service. The ideal candidate will bring experience within industries such as automotive, motorsports, rail, aerospace, industrial, or related markets and demonstrate the ability to build long-term, value-based customer relationships.

Responsibilities:
Develop and manage strategic customer relationships to drive profitable sales growth within assigned accounts and territories
Identify new business opportunities through market analysis, customer engagement, and competitive intelligence
Build and maintain value-based partnerships that position Tempel as a preferred supplier and business partner
Develop account strategies and business plans to support customer growth, retention, and long-term profitability
Lead or support pricing, supply, and commercial negotiations in collaboration with internal stakeholders
Coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure strong customer support, operational alignment, and successful program execution
Maintain and manage sales pipeline activity, forecasts, and customer information within CRM systems
Participate in customer meetings, quoting activities, contract discussions, and strategic planning initiatives
Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Customer Service teams to support customer requirements and business objectives
Monitor market trends, customer activity, and competitive developments to identify growth opportunities and risks
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to support customer and engineering discussions
Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to overall commercial strategy and market development
Desired Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; equivalent experience will also be considered
Experience in account management, business development, or technical sales within automotive, motorsports, rail, aerospace, industrial, or related markets
Experience with B2B sales and consultative or value-based selling approaches
Strong communication, relationship management, and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across teams and functions
Familiarity with CRM systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, or similar platforms preferred
Technical aptitude and ability to support customer discussions involving engineered or manufactured products.
Work Environment:
This position requires approximately 60% domestic travel. Candidates must reside within the assigned territory, with preference for Michigan or Ohio-based locations.
