Based in Belmont and reporting to the Sales Manager – Markets, this pivotal role is about more than account management.
You'll take strategic ownership of a portfolio of major customer accounts across construction, mining and government sectors throughout Western Australia. Success in this role comes from building long-term partnerships, identifying opportunities for growth, leading commercial discussions and working closely with operational teams to deliver outstanding customer outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Own the customer relationship – Be the senior point of contact for strategic accounts and drive engagement across all levels of the customer organisation.
- Be the face of Coates – Build trusted partnerships, understand customer challenges and align Coates' solutions to support operational success.
- Think strategically – Develop and execute account growth plans and customer engagement strategies that deliver long-term value.
- Drive growth – Increase share of wallet, identify project opportunities and grow revenue within existing customer relationships.
- Collaborate for success – Work closely with operational, sales and support teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes
- Stay connected – Travel across WA as required to strengthen relationships, identify opportunities and maintain visibility across your customer portfolio.

What you'll bring to the role
- Experience managing and growing strategic or major customer accounts within construction, mining, industrial, logistics, manufacturing, government or related sectors
- Demonstrated success building long-term customer partnerships and growing revenue within existing accounts
- Experience managing large, multi-site customer relationships across a state-wide, multi-branch or national footprint
- Strong commercial acumen, including contract negotiations, tenders, pricing reviews and strategic account planning
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with operational, sales and support teams to deliver successful customer outcomes
- Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in a Key Account Manager, National Account Manager, Strategic Account Manager, Major Account Manager, Business Manager or similar customer-facing commercial role
- Exposure to equipment hire, industrial services, transport and logistics, waste management, mining, industrial distribution, manufacturing or related sectors
- A proactive and self-driven approach with the ability to work autonomously and deliver results
