Anne Arundel County Government is looking to fill a full-time permanent, safety-sensitive Stormwater Management Inspector (Environmental Control Inspector) position within the Department of Inspections and Permits.
This is skilled work in securing and maintaining compliance with the approved plans, County and national codes and regulations governing stormwater management and erosion and sediment control in construction projects.
Work involves responsibility for effecting compliance with legally established codes and regulations for the county's soil erosion and sedimentation and stormwater management programs. Work includes the application of discretion and judgment in the interpretation of pertinent codes and regulations and in making inspections. Work is performed under general supervision within established policies, regulations, and technical guidelines, and is reviewed by a superior through conferences and reports.

EDUCATION: Graduation from high school, including or supplemented by courses in plan reading.
EXPERIENCE: Two or more years of experience in erosion control practices and infrastructure installations or a related field; a Maryland certificate in training for erosion control or ability to obtain the certificate within six months of hire; and a valid non-commercial Class C motor vehicle operator's license.
NOTE: Courses in plan reading may be substituted with skilled work in reviewing, implementing, or enforcing minimum standards of site grading, stormwater management, and construction plans.
NOTE: Longevity pay is available based on years of service.
NOTE: This is a Safety Sensitive position and employees in this position are subject to Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) and Alcohol testing.
