Job Description

Position Purpose:

Performs all work in connection with the maintenance of the storeroom and the receipt, control, and issuance of material from the central store location. Also responsible for the general grounds up-keep and control of ingress and egress from the property, and other yard duties as assigned.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Receives, unpacks, inspects, verifies, and stores all incoming material in proper places and prepares proper “Received Ticket”.
  • Issues all material upon receipt of proper requisition and prepares necessary “Issued Ticket”.
  • Handles all material returned to stores and prepares necessary “Returned Ticket”.
  • Maintains storeroom in orderly manner and assists in Spoils Yard and Tool Room when time permits.
  • Manages phone inquiries, completes calls, or relays information as necessary.
  • Operate usual office equipment.
  • Performs watching duties at Company properties as required; Make watch tours as assigned.
  • Upon proper identification and presentation of proper pass, admits authorized persons to property after hours and has register signed.
  • Performs general and miscellaneous yard duties. Duties include pick-and-shovel work, loading and unloading materials, operating forklift, cleaning, salting of yard, etc.
  • Clean and salvage returned pipe, fittings, hydrants, valves, etc.
  • Must operate all types of automotive and heavy equipment as assigned.
  • Operate and test material as received to validate integrity of deliveries.
  • Delivery/pickup of material and equipment to and from the field, as directed by management.
  • Performs preparation of pipes for crews by cutting appropriate pipe lengths instructed in work orders or by Management.
  • Performs other similar or less skilled work, as assigned.
  • Assists employees of a higher classification, as assigned.

Work Environment:

  • Will perform regularly scheduled standby emergency duties - response time is not to exceed 45 minutes.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

  • Must pass ongoing evaluation tests (30, 60, 90, 120-Day).
  • Must possess a valid State Vehicle operator’s license with CDL Class B Air Brakes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift to 90 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to climb, bend and crawl in tight spaces.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

Additional Information

Pay Rate: $33.37 per hour.
