Overview of the Role

To ensure the effective control of incoming goods and material deliveries to company procedures. To issue materials and goods to manufacturing plants to ensure continuous production, in a safe manner. To maintain and update D365 system regarding stock levels and movements. Safe unloading of deliveries of packaging and Ingredients. To support the development of a pro-active H&S environment. To support the development of an environment for continuous improvement for stores department performance and people.

Key Accountabilities

Safety Leadership:

Maintain a zero-incident safety record through proactive measures and regular safety audits.

Attend monthly Safety Committee sessions and ensure team participation.

Ensure all safety protocols are up-to-date and strictly followed.

Carry out all Safety related tours each week.

Facilitate Team Performance:

Lead by example.

Plan and organise adequate cover for holidays/absence

Carry out stock taking to ensure it is entered accurately on the system and arrange suitable training where needed

Conduct regular team briefs to provide feedback and support to ensure the team have the knowledge to deliver their job accountabilities

To ensure all communication within Logistics is open, honest, factual and timely.

Hold people accountable by celebrating great performance as well as effectively managing under-performance in a timely and constructive manner aligned with company policy.

Enforce compliance to company guidelines.

Adopt a pro-active approach for unplanned events which may include late deliveries or plan changes.

Report instances of poor quality of deliveries to your Manager.

Encourage Development:

Cast the right leadership shadow in line with our Value and Behaviours.

Ensure objectives are on Success Factors and review at set intervals to drive performance.

Identify and nurture talent to deliver effective succession planning.

Collaborative Achievement:

Foster strong relationships with key site stakeholders to achieve logistics performance targets.

Ensure timely communication that is effective for all levels of the team including our stakeholders.

Achieve, or exceed, logistics performance targets set by the organization.

Efficiency:

Implement process improvements to enhance departmental efficiency.

Monitor and reduce operational costs YoY.

Customer Satisfaction:

Ensure all customer complaints are resolved within 48 hours.

Regularly review and improve distribution processes to meet customer needs.

Cleanliness:

Ensure the department meets cleanliness standards through regular inspections.

Conduct weekly cleanliness audits and address any issues promptly.

Always maintain a clean and organised work environment.

Proactive approach in ensuring GMP standards are kept at the desired level.

Continuous Improvement:

Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team suggestions and feedback.

Implement at least three new improvement initiatives annually.

The Right Person

Functional Skills

Computer literate.

Knowledge of Word and Excel.

Good communicator.

Knowledge of D365 advantageous.

Ability to work on own initiative.

Teamwork.

Ability to work under pressure.

Counter Balance / Reach fork lift truck License.

Leading a Team.

IOSH Trained.
