Storeroom Attendant - Integrated Supply (Horseheads, NY #3456)
Location: Horseheads, New York
Shift/Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Pay/Compensation: $19.00 to $21.00 per hour
About the Role
A fast-paced, safety-first industrial supply operation is hiring a Storeroom Attendant to work inside a customer facility in Horseheads. You will issue parts and materials and assist with cycle counting, using a laptop and iPad every day. This temp assignment covers an associate on leave, with possible extension or temp to hire.
Assignment Details
- Contract assignment, 3 months with possible extension
- Work setting: onsite
- Openings: 1
- Anticipated start: immediate start
Core Responsibilities
- Unload, receive and put away incoming product, tools and equipment, checking for damage and for discrepancies against invoices
- Sort, label, move and store items on racks, shelves and in bins in a set sequence, arranging storage to make the best use of space
- Issue product, tools and equipment to site employees and keep accurate records of items issued and returned
- Enter data in the inventory system to keep stock records current and respond to inquiries on inventory levels
- Perform cycle counts, assist with inventory level maintenance and report the results
- Request requisitions to replenish inventory and log discrepancies for management follow-up
- Inspect tools and equipment for wear, deliver them to work locations and locate lost or misplaced items
Required Qualifications
- Strong computer skills; you will use a laptop and iPad daily
- Customer service disposition for an onsite customer position
- Safety shoes required; no loose or dangling jewelry
- 3 or more months of relevant experience or training (high school diploma or equivalent preferred, not required)
- Experience loading, unloading, picking, packing or moving goods in a warehouse environment
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, work orders, operating instructions and procedure manuals
- Basic computer and math skills, or demonstrated aptitude to learn
- Strong communication and customer service skills, attention to detail and a safety-minded approach
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical skills with Microsoft Office, SX.e and Prophet 21 are preferred
- Experience issuing parts and materials
- Experience with cycle counting
- Strong customer service background
Work Environment
- Onsite inside a customer facility
- Daily use of a laptop and iPad
- No forklift work in this role
- Safety shoes required; no loose or dangling jewelry
- Close contact with customer employees
