First shift Hours; Mainly filling out and delivering orders to nursing floors

Pay Range:

$19.80 - $29.70Major Responsibilities:
Ensures food is received and stored in compliance with regulatory standards and department policies and procedures.
3)Stores products in proper storage areas, rotating and dating stock with each shipment and dispensing products according to the “FIFO” system.
4)Assists with physical inventory of all items and utilization of leftovers and/or excesses.
5)Promotes patient safety by reporting issues through established channels and participating, as requested, in safety initiatives.
6)Monitors storage areas for outdated or other non-conforming products and places them on the designated shelf to ensure items are not used.
1)Receives perishable and non-perishable products according to department standards, checks deliveries against invoices, specifications and order sheets to ensures proper quantities and quality are received. Reports any discrepancies in the order or rejections to the Storeroom/Purchasing Coordinator or Food Production Manager.
2)Refrigerates/freezes/stores all perishable products promptly to ensure food safety.
Ensures food, dry goods, and janitorial supplies are properly distributed to customers.
2)Assists hospital and departmental associates with their supply needs in a courteous, timely and proper manner.
3)Partners with hospital associates to meet patient and customer expectations for service.
4)Demonstrates a commitment to service excellence through personal example and prompt follow-up on opportunities to improve service.
5)Demonstrates accuracy and clarity in both verbal and written communications.
6)Demonstrates sound decision-making; takes responsibility for decisions made.
7)Demonstrates excellent follow-through and follow-up.
8)Alerts Food Production Manager of any shortages or mis-picks that will impact food production.
9)Oversees the area as designated in the absence of the Coordinator.
1)Fills requisitions for supplies and nourishments at regularly scheduled pick-up times for nursing floors, ancillary departments, and the other Food and Nutrition Services areas.
Ensures that equipment and storage facilities are maintained according to department and regulatory standards, as well as, department policies and procedures.
2)Maintains clean and sanitary work area at all times, completing special CQI sanitation projects as assigned.
3)Records cooler and freezer temperatures at beginning and end of shift. Monitors general temperature whenever entering any cooler or freezer. Notifies supervisor imediately if temperature is recorded as being out of range or feels out of range when entering.
4)Monitors temperature of dry storage area to ensure food is held in a manner that maintains freshness and the quality of the product.
5)Practices "clean as you go" in day to day task assignments.
6)Uses correct body mechanics and appropriate safety techniques in the performance of duties.
1)Cleans entire storeroom area, including walk-in refrigerators, freezers, shelves, walls, floors and designated equipment in accordance with established department procedures, using proper cleaning chemicals and PPEs as required.

2)Follows established uniform policy. Wears appropriate department uniform according to department policy, i.e., shirt tucked in with a belt, nails trimmed, approved jewelry, beardnet (if appropriate), hairnet or plain black cap.
3)Maintains a neat, clean and professional image. I.D. badge worn while on duty, picture visible.
Participates in self-development by attending mandatory inservices and education programs approprate to the goals and needs of the department.
5)Assists with cross-training of other associates.

Education/Experience Required:
• High School or Equivalent
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• Ability to lift and carry 10 - 35 lbs. • Ability to tolerate frequent temperature changes due to walk-in freezers and refrigerators. • Ability to be exposed to water/cleaning supplies for sanitation purposes. • Ability to walk, stand and bend continuously. • Ability to transport items to various areas of the department and hospital. • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and time constraints. • Ability to work as part of a team.
This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For lifts over 35 pounds, lifting equipment is expected to be used or lift with at least one other associate when available. Unique lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case by case basis.
