Storeperson & Truck Driver (Occasional Driving – HR/MR/LF Licence Required)
Stirlings Performance Steels | Derwent Park, TAS | Full Time
About Stirlings
Established in 1973, Stirlings Performance Steels is a proudly family-owned Stockist & Processor of Stainless & Performance Steel products, with over 50 years of success. From our national network of branches, we import, stock, process, and distribute premium metals that support construction, resources, infrastructure, defence, and manufacturing — as well as everyday customers. We're known for quality products, excellent service, and strong customer relationships.
As a privately owned business, we've held onto something many companies lose as they grow: a genuine family culture. Join Stirlings, and you'll find a stable, long-term career with a growing national business, on-the-job training, and genuine career development — we're strong on internal development and promotion.
The Opportunity
We're seeking a reliable Storeperson to join our Derwent Park - TAS team, with the flexibility to step in as a truck driver when needed. This role is warehouse-focused day-to-day, picking, packing, forklift work, loading and unloading, with occasional local deliveries covering for our regular driver when they're unavailable. It suits someone who enjoys hands-on warehouse work and doesn't mind getting behind the wheel every now and then, all within a supportive team environment.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll play a key role in our day-to-day warehouse operations — picking, packing, receivals, despatch, customer collections, logistics and housekeeping — to support efficient customer service. When our regular driver is away, you'll step in to complete local metro deliveries on schedule using our truck, so a current HR or MR licence is required even though driving is only an occasional part of the role.
Responsibilities are not limited to those listed above.
What You'll Bring
• A valid MR or HR driver's licence (used occasionally, to cover deliveries)
• A valid Forklift licence
• Order Picker (LO) licence desirable but not mandatory
• Previous experience in a warehouse or industrial environment
• Knowledge of warehousing & freight procedures towards the care and handling of products
• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to workplace safety
• The ability to work independently and meet delivery schedules when required
• A team player with a great attitude and strong work ethic
