Job Description
Our client, an established company operating within the apertures manufacturing and installation industry in Malta, is seeking a reliable and organised Storekeeper to join its team.
This is a hands-on role responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the stores, ensuring that materials, components, tools and other items are properly received, stored, recorded and issued to the relevant teams.
The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Projects and Installation teams to ensure that the materials they require are available and properly organised.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming materials, components, accessories and other stock.
- Check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation, ensuring quantities are correct and reporting any discrepancies or damaged items.
- Ensure incoming goods are correctly recorded and stored in their designated locations.
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient stores area.
- Issue materials, tools and components to Production and Installation teams as required.
- Prepare and organise materials required for upcoming jobs and installations.
- Maintain accurate records of stock received, issued, returned or transferred.
- Monitor stock levels and inform the relevant team when items need to be replenished.
- Assist with regular stock counts and inventory checks.
- Report and assist in investigating any stock discrepancies.
- Ensure materials and components are stored appropriately to minimise damage, loss or waste.
- Keep appropriate records of tools and equipment issued to employees where required.
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries.
- Handle returned, damaged or surplus materials according to company procedures.
- Work closely with colleagues across Production, Projects and other operational departments.
- Follow company health and safety procedures when handling, storing and moving materials.
- Carry out other reasonable stores and stock-related duties as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Storekeeper, Warehouse Operative, Stores Assistant or in a similar role would be considered an advantage.
- Experience within manufacturing, construction, apertures, aluminium, PVC, joinery, hardware or building materials would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Basic understanding of stock control and inventory would be an advantage.
- Good organisational skills and a methodical approach to work.
- Good attention to detail, particularly when checking quantities and recording stock movements.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physically capable of carrying out the practical duties associated with a stores environment, including handling and moving materials.
- Reliable, punctual and responsible.
- Willingness to learn and follow established procedures.
- Good working knowledge of English is required.
- Knowledge of Maltese would be considered an advantage but is not required.
- A valid driving licence would be considered an advantage.
Working Hours
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Malta.
The role may occasionally require additional working hours or Saturday work, depending on production, deliveries and the operational requirements of the business.
Any additional hours worked outside the employee's normal working hours will be paid as overtime, in accordance with the applicable arrangements.
