In this role, you'll:

Be working as part of the Sydney Trains Tangara Fleet Life Expectancy (TFLE) project team. Sydney Trains’ Tangara fleet makes up a quarter of our suburban rail fleet. To ensure their longevity, the Sydney Trains Tangara Life Extension project will upgrade operating systems, modernise onboard passenger information systems, and enhance accessibility features for mobility-impaired passengers.

The project will also help build our future workforce capabilities, strengthen local economies and support the long-term growth of NSW’s transportation industry.

You will ensure correct management of parts assigned to the Tangara Fleet in conjunction with the operational requirements and systems of the Warehouse including appropriate administration to confirm the movements of parts on site, and the tracking to and from suppliers whilst also maintaining interdepartmental relations on the project for a cohesive approach in maintaining the delivery requirements of the Warehouse.

  • Unload, validate and accurately book onto the warehouse management system (SAP) all parts received
  • Accurately pick, package for dispatch and ship all parts required
  • Ensure compliance with all record keeping required
  • Operate forklift and other warehouse equipment safely
  • Hands on inventory control and software input
  • Ensure safe and undamaged delivery and accurately transact the consumption of parts
  • Contributing to the optimisation of inventory, balancing competing demands and priorities, and meeting agreed deadlines in a dynamic environment of ongoing changes

This role is Permanent full time and will be based at the Auburn Heavy Maintenance Centre. You will be required to do shift work, early 6am starts and possible afternoon shifts in future.

About you

  • Understanding of Engineering with building and maintenance of trains
  • Experience in Material Cycle counting and stock accuracy processes
  • Proficient skills in using Microsoft Office suite of programs – Excel - Outlook
  • Valid appropriate Materials Handling Equipment licenses – Certificate III in Warehousing - Forklift License
  • Working knowledge of SAP in WM/IM systems will be highly regarded
  • High level of attention to detail with excellent communication skills
  • Enjoys building lasting and respectful relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders
